Edgar Wright’s latest was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise sequel stuffed summer. The heist film brought in $226M worldwide at the box office making it Wright’s biggest film to date, and Sony has asked the director to look at sequel ideas, which would be a first for Wright. Baby Driver’s home video package is stuffed with features including two commentary tracks: a solo one by Wright and another where he’s joined by cinematographer Bill Pope.
Another successful non-sequel this summer was Sofia Coppola’s remake of The Beguiled. The film’s limited release expanded on June 30 and propelled it into the box office top 10 above other blockbusters like The Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The only extras included on the blu-ray are two featurettes.
