Health Canada says Fluffy Unicorn workout supplement can cause heart attack, stroke

First Published:

Health Canada has issued a warning to consumers about a product called Fluffy Unicorn, saying it may pose serious health risks.

The agency said the unauthorized natural health product is being promoted as a workout supplement.

Health Canada said lab testing on the product seized from a shop in Laval, Quebec found undeclared synephrine and higher levels of caffeine than indicated on the product label.

When combined, the two ingredients can cause serious health issues such as heart attacks and stroke.

The agency said consumers should stop using the product and if more retailers or distributors are found, it will take appropriate action.
