Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to announce details on how the government plans on bringing in 25-thousand Syrian refugees by the end of the year.

While the country waits for that information our Phil Perkins found out how the city will be dealing with the incoming refugees.

Canada is in the process of welcoming tens of thousands of Syrian refugees. And a healthy amount will be calling Hamilton home.

Refugees will enter Canada via two routes: through the government or by private sponsors.

When the former arrives in Hamilton, their first stop will be the Wesley Urban Ministries, who brought in 300 refugees last year.

No matter if the refugees are entering Canada via the government or private sponsors, each group are very confident in their security screening process.

The Mayor of Hamilton’s office are holding off any comment on how they’ll be accommodating the influx of Syrian refugees until the Prime Minister makes his announcement.
