Hamilton bubble soccer scores with the adventurous

There’s a new sport that’s gaining popularity in Hamilton called bubble soccer.

It’s basically regular soccer, except players suit up in giant plastic bubbles and push each other around the field.

CHCH’s Elise Copps suited up at Bubble Force on Cumberland Ave. recently and says players wear the bubble like a backpack.

It’s a full contact sport, but you can’t hit anyone from behind and you have to let players get back on their feet before knocking them down again.

Aside from the fun, the sport is draining. Groups need to sub on and off every five minutes.

One player says the 30 pound bubble can make anyone a real hot mess.

“In that bubble, it becomes like a sauna. You get so hot in there and it just makes it more of a workout.”

Bubble force hosts a drop in session every Friday night at Player’s Paradise in Stoney Creek if you want to test your skills.
