Halton police appeal for witnesses of fatal crash

Halton police are asking for witnesses to come forward after one person was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Oakville.

It happened around 10:26 a.m. Tuesday on Royal Windsor Drive, east of Ford Drive.

Police say a SUV travelling westbound crossed over the centre line and collided with a transport truck travelling eastbound.

A third vehicle was then hit and forced off the road, striking a utility pole.

The driver of the SUV, a 47-year-old Toronto man, was killed.

The road was closed for roughly five hours to allow for an extensive clean up of debris and spilled fuel from the collision.

Police are asking any witnesses to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747, ext. 5065.
