The City of Guelph says it’s locking out about 200 unionized transit employees and suspending service as of 12:01am on Monday.
Officials say one exception is the Guelph Transit Mobility Service, which will bring passengers to pre-booked medical appointments during the disruption.
Major issues on the table are wages and a union demand for additional staff.
Guelph Mayor, Karen Farbridge says the decision to lock out employees was not made lightly.
City Council says it’s hoping the lockout won’t affect too many people since ridership is lower in the summer.
