Grenade Investigation in Hamilton

Tense moments for many yesterday evening in Hamilton’s central region when police descended on the area for a grenade call.

Hamilton Police say around 6:15 PM last night, a passerby noticed what looked like a grenade at 71 Wentworth Street South near Main Street.

The area was sectioned off while the explosive disposal unit worked to ensure the public was safe.

Police say the device is being stored until investigators determine whether or not it is in fact a grenade.
