A public memorial was held in Edmonton Sunday for the Alberta RCMP officer who was shot and killed at a Casino last weekend.

42-year-old Constable David Wynn died on Wednesday, four days after he and another officer were shot inside St. Albert’s Apex Casino while investigating a stolen truck.

Auxiliary Constable Derek Bond was also shot in the incident. He has been released from hospital.

The public paid their respects for Wynn at the Saint Albert Alliance Church.

A regimental funeral will take place Monday afternoon.

It’s expected thousands of people will attend, including Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Premier Jim Prentice.
