It’s a frosty Friday the 13th and the weather put a bit of a chill into the celebrations in Port Dover but it’s wasn’t totally a bust. A few bikes braved the bitter cold, lots of bikers made the trek without their machines and even the cold couldn’t keep cupid from making an appearance.
The frigid temperatures kept many people away. In the summer, there would be thousands of people on the streets. Main street is usually closed for the event.
This year a few brave souls , die hards you might call them, still ventured out. Friday the 13th is big business for the town of Port Dover. Hotels fill up and stores are busy – even street vendors say it helps the bottom line.
The good news is that Friday the 13th comes around three times this year, so there two more chances for motor cycle enthusiasts to celebrate. The bad news is they come in cold months, the next one is March and then November.
