The founder of Earth, Wind & Fire has died. Maurice White has died of Parkinson’s disease at his home in Los Angeles. He was 74.

White revealed he was dealing with Parkinson’s when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He retreated from public life as the band he started kept performing. They sold more than 90 million albums.

White named the band “Earth, Wind & Ffire” after his astrological signs.
