An early morning fire in Crystal Beach caused millions in damages and the complete loss of at least 2 beach front homes, 4 cottages went up in flames.

The fire was so large, 42 firefighters, from 5 different stations were called in. 2 of the 4 homes were completely destroyed, a third will likely be demolished. Officials say no one was hurt.

While the cause of fire is unknown, officials have not ruled out arson.

“It is rare, it’s unusual. Our investigators are in the process of interviewing people and we have called in the Fire Marshall’s office to assist with the investigation.”

The owners, some from Buffalo and others from the Fort Erie area have all been notified. Officials say finding out what happened may take several days.
