Fire destroys Hagersville condo

First Published:

A fire has destroyed a condo is Hagersville.

It happened on Friday morning at a unit on Main Street North. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but home owner Jorge Pimentel says the fire department is looking into an electrical issue as a possible cause. The fire began in the backyard. Pimintel says he has a hot tub, but that everything appeared to be up to standards. Pimintel and his wife have two young children under the age of four, who left the house just minutes before the fire broke out. He says they’re thankful everyone is safe.

The family is staying with relatives in Hamilton. They did have insurance, but it only covered up to $30,000 in damages. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family, which you can find here: GoFundMe
