Fire at Burlington church believed to be arson

Halton police believe a fire at a 127-year-old church was a case of arson.

Trinity Baptist Church, located at 4372 Appleby Line in Burlington, caught fire on August 17.

The original part of the church was built in 1890. It’s roof and attic were burnt, but newer parts were saved.

The fire caused more than half a million dollars in damage.

The word ‘ISIS’ was spray painted on three different parts of the church, but police do not believe it was a hate crime.
