Father and baby escape fiery crash on the QEW

The crash happened around 2 pm Monday afternoon near the Skyway bridge.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said a transport truck struck a car crushing it into the median and pushing it over the wall landing on the Niagara bound lanes. The car burst into flames with a man and his 8 month old baby inside. Witnesses say about 6 bystanders rushed to the car and were able to rescue the man and baby.

All Niagara bounds lanes and two Toronto bound lanes were closed till about 6:30 pm.
