Fatal crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga

A 45 year old man from Richmond Hill is dead following a 3 transport truck collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schimdt said just before noon, a transport truck hauling gravel hit the back of a truck carrying trailer campers, which then hit another transport truck in front of them. The man driving the truck carrying gravel was pronounced dead at the scene.

All Eastbound lanes are closed between Winston Churchill blvd and Mississauga rd. Traffic is being forced off at Winston Churchill.

All westbound lanes remain open, but traffic is very heavy in the area.
