Fake police officer pulls over woman in Hamilton

First Published:

Hamilton police are warning the public about a man pretending to be a police officer.

On Friday a woman was driving in the area of Miles road and Airport road when she saw a flashing light from a car behind her, she pulled over. The man’s car was similar to an unmarked police vehicle. He walked over to the woman asked her to get out of her car, that’s when she questioned him and told him she was contacting police by phone and he left.

The car is described as an older Ford Crown Victoria, black or dark blue in colour, all black tires including rims. The man is said to be in his late forties to early fifties, around 6 feet tall. He’s bald with a brown or grey goatee.  He was wearing a short sleeved shirt with shoulder flashes, some kind of badge and name tag, dark pants and had a holster on his side.
