Directors Reuben Atlas and Jerry Rothwell spoke to us about their thrilling detective documentary Sour Grapes when the film had its Canadian premier at the Hot Docs Film Festival. The film delves into the world of wine fraud by looking at the case of Rudy Kurniawan, a charismatic young wine savant who turns heads when he enters the world of wine auctions and earns millions from sales from his personal collection. But, when Laurent Ponsot, a French winemaker notices bottles from his vineyard at auction from years where no wine was ever produced he begins an investigation that unravels one of the most ingenious cons of our time.

Sour Grapes sees a limited release at the Bloor Hot Docs Theatre on May 27th. One of our favourites from the festival, its a film perfectly paired with a vintage Burgundy wine.
