Hundreds of “pink warriors” hit the pavement in Burlington Sunday for the CIBC Run for the Cure.

Runners and spectators alike donned pink as they came together to help raise money for breast cancer research.

People of all ages and abilities came out to take part in Sunday’s event, which is one of 65 happening across the country.

Many of the participants said they were running for the people in their lives affected by breast cancer.

The run for the cure is Canada’s largest single day event to raise money for breast cancer research.

Last year, the event helped raise $27 million for breast cancer causes.
