Eve Adams fails to get Liberal nod

First Published:

Former Conservative MP Eve Adams has been defeated in her bid to run for the Liberals in this fall’s federal election.

Lawyer Marco Mendicino beat the Tory defector last night for the Liberal nomination in the Toronto Eglinton-Lawrence riding.

Adams made headlines in February for crossing the floor to the Liberal party where she was welcomed into the Liberal fold by leader Justin Trudeau.   Some political pundits believe the defeat could hurt his credibility.

Adams says she’ll spend some time with her family but also suggests she’s not yet finished with politics.

Mendicino will now face off against Finance Minister Joe Oliver, who currently represents the riding.
