An elderly woman escaped injuries while evacuating a blaze on Hamilton mountain early this morning.

A bedroom at the back of the house on Hadeland Ave near Upper Paradise Rd was fully engulfed in flames after six o’clock this morning. Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to the rest of the house.

There is extensive smoke damage throughout the house. Fire officials say it’s too early to determine a cause but have ruled out foul play.
