Easter chocolate from NOTL

If chocolate is your weakness, you’re going to love this next story. CHCH went to the FX Chocolate Factory in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where chocolate Easter bunny production is going full tilt.

At the Chocolate factory in NOTL — Easter for them is just like Christmas.

“We keep on making until we run out.”

Five thousand pounds of chocolate is being melted here.

“Yeah. It’s a lot of chocolate.”

Wilma Olive-Mills says they’ll keep mixing, pouring and boxing chocolate right up until Sunday afternoon.

Easter is the biggest chocolate consuming holiday in North America. Every year, about 125 million pounds of chocolate is eaten. Including 90 million easter eggs.”

Here, everyone is like a kid in a candy store.

Katja Klinger is a tourist: “I come from Germany and the Lindt factory. So this is our favourite in Germany. I really like it yeah.”

There’s chocolate in all shapes and sizes. rabbits and eggs and oreo cookies.

“Plastic golden spoons with chocolate candy inside. That’s what I saw.”

Ryan and Tyler Domm are going on a chocolate tour to find out.

“How they put peanut butter inside a chocolate. We like peanut butter too. Yeah. Me too.”

400 pounds of eggs will be up for grabs tomorrow at Fireman’s Park in Niagara Falls at their annual Easter egg hunt.
