East Leg of Sherman Access reopens after rock slide

First Published:

Many drivers can return to their normal commute Thursday morning following the re-opening of a portion of Hamilton’s Sherman Access.

The east leg of the access was closed in both directions on May 28 after several boulders and debris fell from the escarpment onto the roadway.

The City of Hamilton says they have completed the necessary repairs to ensure safety along the access and it is now fully open to traffic.

The west leg of the access remains reduced to a single lane as city crews continue to repair and examine the escarpment.
