Eight finalists in the “Tim Hortons Duelling Donuts Contest” pitched their sweet treat ideas to a panel of Canadian celebrities today.

After reviewing over 76-thousand submissions, Tim Hortons selected eight finalists to go to the Tim Horton’s head office. They met with Jason Priestly, Jann Arden, Anna Olson and Ben Mulroney. This is the second year Priestley has judged the competition, and he gave us some insight into what the judges are looking for: “We judge on a lot of elements. We judge on the appearance, the name, the creativity of the name, we obviously judge on the flavour. This year, we’re also judging on the people’s presentation that they gave us about the (creation). So there were a lot of different elements that we were judging on this year and I think that’s gonna bring a different qualitative element to the competition.”

The final four pitches will be voted on by Canadians starting Monday. The contest winner will receive 10-thousand dollars and see their product on the Tim Hortons menu.
