The OPP are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver of a car involved in a motorcycle crash on the QEW near St.Catharines. The driver sped away following the crash but police are hoping dash cam video of the accident will help catch them.

The dash cam video from a transport truck shows the truck driver veer to the right missing the rider by mere inches. The 45 year old motorcyclist from Niagara Falls, New York made it out alive with scrapes and broken bones. The crash happened Wednesday during the evening rush hour. The driver of a dark vehicle was in the Toronto bound lanes of the QEW near Jordan road.

Randy Clare is the general manager of Clare’s Harley-Davidson of Niagara. He says the incident is another reminder that motorists need to share the roads with bikes.
“Very graphic, very disturbing. It just goes to show how something can happen in an instance and we really need to pay attention to what is around us whether you are on a motorcycle or in a car.”

OPP say that suggests there is a very high chance the wanted driver saw the motorcyclist go down before speeding off. Police are looking to speak to the driver and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
