It’s not unusual for a dog to befriend a cat.  But a dog named “Coco” that lives on the Warner farm in Niagara Falls is giving “puppy love” a whole new meaning.  As Lauran Sabourin shows us, you’ve probably never seen anything like this.

Meet Coco. A three-year old Belgian Malinois who lives on Donna Warner’s pumpkin farm in Niagara Falls.  Coco just had a litter of pups.

“Where’s your kitty?” said the dog’s owner, Donna Warner.

But for Coco, 8 pups wasn’t enough.

A week ago, Coco went to the barn next door and took a kitten from a litter belonging to Pumpkin the cat.

“One morning I came out and this little guy was nursing with the eight puppies.” said Donna.

Here’s a four week old kitten, nursing with two week old pups.

Every day,Donna would take the kitten back to its mother.

“And every morning it was back with the puppies. And that’s the only way to get it in this was with Coco.” said Donna.

Coco has always had a thing for cats. She lets the kitten crawl all over her.

Donna was hoping that breeding Coco would end her obsession with cats. But when the litter of pups was born, Coco’s obsession with this one kitten only got worse

“I’ve never heard of anything like it.  Hey?” said Donna.

Problem is, Pumpkin won’t have anything to do with the kitten now that Coco’s claimed him.

“The pups will all go. But Coco’s kitten is going to stay.” said Donna.
