In the middle of a dream vacation in Northern Europe an Ancaster couple found out their dog escaped from the dog kennel and can’t be found.

The couple’s daughter Jennifer Mainse is using a 2-year old lab shepherd mix to help find Isabella the 6-year old Whippet. Isabella has been missing since Friday June 26th. “She’s not and outdoor dog at all. She’s always on a leash, even in the house sometimes so she doesn’t get out.”

Isabella was dropped off at Holly’s Pride Kennel on Hwy 52 in Ancaster last Friday afternoon. An hour later, she escaped while being walked in a harness and choke collar.

“She slipped out of both of them in an instant. She’s a nervous dog and ran away from us immediately” says Holly’s Pride Manager Jennifer Montesanto.

Isabella’s owners are on vacation in Finland right now, and are devastated that she hasn’t been found.

So far there have been four Isabella sightings, the last one in the Ancaster business park Thursday morning. Close to 50 volunteers have helped search for the elusive whippet throughout the week.

It’s believed Isabella was inside a barn on Alberton road at some point. The searchers have set up a cage with Isabella’s bed and food and water inside. When she grabs the food, she will be trapped in the cage.
