Dellen Millard in court ahead of third murder trial

First Published:

Convicted killer Dellen Millard made a court appearance Friday for a hearing in the murder trial in the death of his father.

Millard, 32, was at the University Avenue courthouse in the morning, looking comfortable as he appeared before the judge.

A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 22. The trial will begin Mar. 20.

Wayne Millard’s 2012 death was initially ruled a suicide, but in 2014, police charged his son with first-degree murder.

In December, Dellen Millard and Mark Smich, 30, were found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Toronto woman Laura Babcock.

The two were automatically sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

In June, they were also convicted of first-degree murder and given life sentences in the death of Tim Bosma from Ancaster.

A judge will decide in February whether those life sentences will be served consecutively or concurrently.
