The jury saw photos of a tattoo today in the Tim Bosma murder trial. A tattoo of the word “ambition” on Dellen Millard’s arm. The court had heard previously that the tattoo was one clue that led police to arrest the aviation heir for the 2013 disappearance of Bosma.
Testimony jumped around a bit today, we heard from Dellen Millard’s autobody shop that the accused had arranged to have a black truck painted red in May of 2013 and he then cancelled the order. We also heard from officers who followed and then arrested Dellen Millard and we heard from Tim Bosma’s neighbour who saw something strange the night he went missing.
Rick Bullmann lives close to the Bosma’s and he always walks his dogs in the evening. On May 6th, 2013, between 9:15 and 9:30 pm he saw a dark pickup pull out of a field across from his home, land owned by his father where he sometimes finds people dumping garbage. But this was strange, he thought because the pickup truck was immediately followed by an SUV. The two vehicles headed in the direction of Brantford.
That was right after Tim Bosma left on a test drive with two men and never came back. When Bullmann was given a flyer about Bosma’s disappearance the next day, he called police.
4 days later, police were trailing Dellen Millard when the order came to arrest him. Millard was on Cawthra road in Mississauga, police boxed in his vehicle and arrested him at gunpoint. In his pockets they found black rubber gloves and a wad of about $350 cash.
Police then took photos of Millard and of his tattoos. “ambition” on one wrist, “discipline” on the other, “don’t you dare forget,” and “I am heaven sent” are phrases tattooed on Dellen Millard’s arm. They are the first lyrics of a song by a band called Brand New.
We also heard from a security expert at Wind mobile, who got a call at 2 am the night Tim Bosma went missing and he started tracking the phone that was used to arrange the test drives. We’ve already heard that it was a pre-paid phone bought under a fake name and was used to contact four different people about diesel Dodge trucks listed for sale. There is vast amounts of evidence from cell phones in this case and we expect that will be the focus for the next day or so at trial.
