UPDATE

A Hamilton senior who went missing Monday afternoon has been found by police.

Members of the Hamilton Police K9 Unit located 93-year-old Romeo Marinilli shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police say he was suffering from hypothermia and was transported to hospital.

“Hamilton Police K-9 unit was searching the train tracks by Kenilworth Avenue North, when our K-9 unit picked up a scent,” said Hamilton police in a news release. “The dog lead the search unit to Romeo who was concealed by bushes close to the train tracks.”

Marinilli was reported missing after he left his home to go for a walk. His daughter told CHCH News that her father may have sat down to take a rest and become disoriented. He was last seen in the area of Robins and Hope avenues.

Hamilton police and Marinilli’s family were concerned for his well-being because he does not speak English and has poor hearing.

Police are thanking the public for their efforts and concerns in the investigation.
