Comic-Con 2014

First Published:

Over the past weekend geeks, nerds and all-around pop culture enthusiasts descended on the San Diego Convention Center for this year’s instalment of Comic-Con. The annual event has become a pilgrimage of sorts for fans of the science-fiction and fantasy genres. Film studios often hold panels at the event bringing along their star studded casts to announce their upcoming projects.

This year movie fans were probably expecting some big things from Marvel’s two upcoming projects, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant Man, but aside from some cast appearances and a bit of new footage, they came away empty handed. The same held true for Warner Bros. upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But even though there wasn’t a lot of superhero news, there were some great new reveals including the first footage of the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road and the next instalments of the Hobbit and Hunger Games franchises. We’ve gathered all the clips in one spot below with plot synopses where available.

They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed.
