Sunday was a day of protest around the world, from Europe to Ottawa and in Hamilton.

Demonstrations were held in anticipation of the UN Climate Summit set to start Monday in Paris.

Protestors are calling for deep cuts to emissions levels across the globe. They are hoping that Paris will be more than a symbolic summit and that a deal will be struck.

They are hoping to set a firm target to reduce co2 emissions not just in Canada, but around the world.

On Sunday, more than a 1,000 people, from 20 different groups, including Mayor Fred Eisenberger, gathered at City Hall to voice their opinion.

On Monday, more than 150 countries will participate in the UN Climate Summit in Paris where they hope to strike a legally binding deal on co2 reduction. It would be the first time in 20 years of negotiations that a deal has been reached.
