Charges laid in Puslinch incident

First Published:

Charges have now been laid in the bizarre case of a wrong way driver on the 401 near Puslinch.

OPP officers say a vehicle was travelling east in the westbound lanes of the 401 west of Highway 6 Wednesday morning. When police pulled the vehicle over the driver tried to take off and crashed into a marked police cruiser. That investigation revealed another incident had taken place earlier which sent one woman to hospital with serious injuries. 33-year-old Derek Carroll of Quebec has been charged with attempted murder and attempting to disarm a police officer. The accused appeared in court in Guelph Thursday morning and is still in custody.
