The Canadian Olympic Committee and Cycling Canada announced the 24 athletes nominated to represent Team Canada at the Toronto 2015 Pan American games in July.

The athletes were introduced this morning at the Milton Velodrome, home of the track cycling events for the games. As host nation, Canada will be fielding the maximum 24 cyclists across all disciplines, representing the largest cycling team at the Pan Am games.

Member Monique Sullivan says “the main theme really has been how proud we are to represent Canada here at home. For many of us it will be the first time wearing the maple leaf on our home soil, so it’s a very special event for us.”

“We want to thank our families, Cycling Canada, and our country for their support to get us here today & also to move forward while we compete. I also want to mention our fellow teammates who do not get named to the team this time but whose keen competition has pushed us to where we are now.”

Canada has won 43 medals in cycling at the Pan Am games: 21 gold, nine silver, and 13 bronze.
