California woman mistakes rattlesnake for dog toy

First Published:

A California woman showed off some fancy footwork after she mistakenly picked up a baby rattlesnake.

Carla Rosso and her husband had just stepped out of their backyard hot tub when she went to pick up what she thought was her dog’s rope toy.

Rosso immediately dropped it when she realized it was a snake and quickly high-stepped away from the venomous reptile.

Los Angeles County firefighters came out to take care of the snake. They say baby rattlers are even more dangerous than adults because they can’t control their venom.
