A water main break has caused flooding in and around Hess Village in Hamilton.

This morning’s break is causing issues in the areas of Main and Hess, and Queen and King by the Scottish Rite. City officials say a contractor hit a large water service with their equipment.

Water has been shut down in the area in order to assess the problem. The water outage includes some of the restaurants in Hess Village.

The city expects the water to remain off until repairs are finished in the early evening.
