A 26-year-old Burlington man was killed in a suspected street-racing crash on the QEW early Saturday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police say it happened in the westbound lanes of the highway, near Guelph Line in Burlington around 12:30 a.m.
Police believe the 23-year-old driver of a black Toyota was racing with a grey vehicle, possibly an Audi, when it struck a centre median and crashed.
The grey car did not stay at the scene and OPP are appealing to the driver to come forward.
The Burlington man, who was the passenger in the Toyota, was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition but died hours later.
OPP say the driver of the Toyota was not seriously hurt and is cooperating with police.
No names have been released yet.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says they are looking at alcohol, speed and aggressive driving as factors in this crash.
Police want to speak with anyone who saw vehicles travelling at a high rate of speed as far back as Ford Drive in Oakville or, who may have dash camera video.
If you have information call Burlington OPP at 905-681-2511 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
