Burlington employees pull for United Way

First Published:

The city of Burlington kicked off its United Way campaign with a barbeque and truck pull this morning.

Teams had to pull a water truck over a 50 meter course with prizes going to the fastest and best themed teams. Organizers like city staffer Tracey Burrows say it’s all about raising money and creating awareness for the United Way.

“It is so important that we raise the money that we do and the pledges that we raise not just this event but people become aware of all the activities that the city of Burlington employees do throughout the year and in the various areas that they can contribute.”

City staff say they’re hoping to raise $65,000 for the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton this year.
