For the past two years, MoneySense magazine has named Burlington the best mid-sized city in Canada in which to live.

Over the weekend the city’s Culture Days were a good example of why quality of life is ranked so high.

Applefest at the Museums of Burlington had kids skipping rope and climbing hay bales.

Downtown at the Art Gallery of Burlington, Tyler Vanholst says the twice-monthly open studio has been a hit that’s often discovered by families as they walk back from the Waterfront

“It’s a cool way to spend an afternoon with their kids.”

The next room over, the AGB was celebrating the opening of Canada’s largest collection of ceramic art, which is expected to tour the country.

A few blocks away, at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre was drawing in the crowds with free entertainment.

Residents taking in the sights and events were happy so much is going on in their own community and that one doesn’t need to go to Toronto to experience rewarding culture.
