The Hamilton Bulldogs opened training camp on Tuesday, their first as an Ontario Hockey League team. The players got their equipment and went through a series of health and fitness tests.
The Bulldogs are now in the OHL instead of the AHL, and they are no longer affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens. With the team belonging to the OHL, players are no longer called up to play for their parent company when they are needed. The coaches have much more control of their players and know where they will be at all times. The Bulldogs’ season starts on September 25th in London, followed by hosting the Memorial Cup champion, Oshawa Generals the next night.
