Many see fears of the Ebola epidemic as one factor in the current drop in stock markets around the world. But there’s a lot more to the decline that that. The TSX lost almost 200 points Wednesday, putting the index in correction territory. But what does that mean?

For some analysis, we’re joined now by award winning professor Nick Bontis.

The TSX is down 10% since its high in September. That’s being a called a correction. But what exactly is a correction?

That seems like a steep drop in a short time frame. Should investors be worried?

For our viewers who don’t follow the markets that closely and only look at their monthly or quarterly statements, this could come as a shock. So what’s behind the drop and why is the TSX falling further than the Dow in New York?

The word correction implies this is where the market should be valuation wise. So is this seen as a buy/hold/sell moment?
