Bill Cosby is expected to be in court today to answer to aggravated indecent assault charges involving a Toronto woman at his Pennsylvania home in 2004. Andrea Constand, who has agreed to have her identity known, accuses Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her.

The alleged assault took place when Constand was a Temple University women’s basketball staffer. Cosby says he did give Constand pills because she was talking about stress and the two shared a moment but Constand’s lawyers have pointed out that she is gay and was dating a woman at the time.

Cosby’s defense team is asking for the case be dismissed because of a deal they say the former district attorney made ten years ago not to prosecute in exchange for Cosby’s deposition in a civil case brought by Constand. In that deposition, Cosby admitted to obtaining quaaludes to give to women he wanted to have sex with.

More than 50 women have accused the star of sexual misconduct, but this is the only criminal case against him.
