The Best of Me is a romantic drama based on the 2011 bestselling novel by the frequently adapted author Nicholas Sparks. Michael Hoffman directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Will Fetters and J. Mills Goodloe, with James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan starring. The official synopsis reads like any Nicholas Sparks adaptation would:

The role of Dawson was originally slated to be played by Paul Walker before his tragic death last year. Up and coming talents Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato star as the younger version of the couple. Bracey just starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in The November Man and has been cast as Johnny Utah in the upcoming Point Break remake.
