Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an epic superhero action film directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, Watchmen, 300). The film is the second in Warner Bros’ extended DC universe after Man of Steel and, as the title suggests, the introduction of the Justice League. It stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Gal Gadot.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with each other, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it has ever known before.

“We felt an interesting way of beginning this story was to examine Superman from another perspective, Batman’s perspective,” explains Snyder. “Bruce doesn’t know who Superman is; all he knows is what the public knows. He blames him for the lives lost in Metropolis, lives that he felt responsible for. His hatred has been building up inside, and now, all this time later, he’s finding reinforcement of those feelings in the media.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is rated 14A.
