Two arrests have been made in the fight involving security guards and a group of men at Jackson Square one week ago. The video has gone viral on YouTube. And police are still looking for two more suspects.

Hamilton police are announcing that charges have officially been laid against two men involved in the assault of two Jackson Square security guards. One is an 18-year old from Etobicoke, the other, a 24-year old from Huntsville who doesn’t seem to be keeping too quiet about the whole incident as it was all caught on tape.

A verbal confrontation on Labour Day at Jackson Square quickly escalated between mall patrons and security and it was all caught on camera. One man is charged with assault. The other with assault, level two because he used his shoe to hit a security guard and that is considered a weapon.

Police say several men were asked to leave the premises after they rode their bikes in the mall’s food court. After refusing to leave, a fight broke out between two of the men and two security guards. Someone recorded part of the incident and posted it online.

The video on YouTube has been viewed close to 360-thousand times. And while the police are not identifying the two men who have been arrested, there is a man on social media named Tyler Rizzi who is identifying himself as one of them.

And it doesn’t appear this is Rizzi’s first run-in with security guards. A photo was posted a year ago on his Instagram account.

The content of the Jackson Square video came as a shock to some, but was not much of a surprise to others.

“I think it’s horrible. It shouldn’t happen in broad daylight. And you know, unfortunately, it’s a bad area and if I didn’t work here, I wouldn’t come down to this area quite frankly.”

“Not surprised. There are too many hot heads running around. Who knows what else was said.”

“Riding your bike in the mall? Sounds like something that would take place with elementary school students. Like, we don’t need to have grown men like getting into an actual physical altercation over it. And then people getting charged with assault too, like now there are criminal charges too? Like that’s ridiculous, why did it ever have to come to that?”

“That’s just crazy. I didn’t think people actually did that. That’s just messed up.”

“It was kind of stupid for what they were doing. Like, they could have just left the mall.”

It’s not clear why the people involved in this incident posted the video, but in the end it did help police with the investigation. The two men have been released with a promise to appear with a future court date.
