Toronto police say 66-year-old Bruce McArthur is now being charged with three new counts of first-degree murder in relation to men who went missing from Toronto’s gay village.
Homicide Det. Sgt. Hank Idsinga said during a news conference Monday morning that McArthur has been charged in the deaths of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Marmudi and Dean Lisowisk.
McArthur was previously charged on Jan. 18 in the presumed deaths of Selim Esen and Andrew Kinsman. Both men were separately reported missing from the area of Church and Wellesley streets last year.
Idsinga says police found dismembered remains of three unidentified bodies hidden in the bottom of large planters at a property on Mallory Cres. related to McArthur. Police have conducted searched at several other properties connected to the 66-year-old man.
McArthur worked as a landscaper and police say they have also searched nearly 30 properties where he did landscaping work.
Police believe there may be more victims but do not know how many.
