An act of kindness from a Stoney Creek man has gone viral. Godfrey Coutto shared a moment with a man who has cerebral palsy on a Hamilton bus. A woman snapped a picture of it and it’s now being shared and talked about around the world.

21 year old Godfrey Coutto got on the bus in Hamilton and was offered a hand shake from a man he only knows as Robert last Tuesday. When Godfrey returned his hand to Robert, the man who has cerebral palsy and is deaf didn’t want to let go. Godfrey says he allowed Robert to rest his head on his shoulder and hold his hand for about a 30 minute bus ride from downtown Hamilton to East Gate square.

A woman snapped a picture which was posted on an “Only in Hamilton” Facebook page. It has over 52 000 ‘likes’ and it’s now all over social media and being talked about on shows like the NBC Today show.

Godfrey is overwhelmed by comments on Twitter, messages on Instagram and Facebook. “A lot of marriage proposals.” Godfrey admits the situation made him uncomfortable, so why did he do it? “I was raised by a Catholic family, during my upbringing they taught me you know, put your peers needs above yours.”
