Mother charged after leaving a baby in the car while she shopped

On Sunday June 10th shortly after 12:30 pm,  police responded to a 911 call in regards to an child locked in a parked car at a shopping plaza in the Postridge drive and Trafalgar road area of Oakville.

Police say the 11-month-old baby was left alone in the car for approximately 90 minutes while the mother shopped.

Paramedics were called to scene to assess the the child’s health and found no physical harm.

29 year old Thuy Thanh Tam Nguyen of Mississauga was charged with abandoning a child and failing to provide the necessaries of life.
