Cyclist seriously injured in collision on Hamilton Mountain

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle on a rural road on Hamilton Mountain.

It happened just before 7 a.m. Tuesday on Trinity Church Rd.

The 68 year old cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

Police say the vehicle was travelling southbound on Trinity Church rd and hit the cyclist from behind, launching him off his bike.

“We don’t know specific injuries, but we do know that he wasn’t wearing a helmet. We are investigating if weather conditions were a factor but speed and alcohol were ruled out.” Hamilton police.
