Hamilton Police say drug-impaired driving arrests are up

Hamilton Police say they’ve made the city’s 32nd drug-impaired driving arrest this year.

Police identified a vehicle driving erratically on the westbound Lincoln Alexander Parkway around 8 p.m. Thursday.

Officers located the vehicle at the Esso parking lot at Upper Paradise and Stone Church Rd. W.

The driver was wanted on several warrants.

Police say when he got out of the vehicle, officers observed signs of drug impairment.

When they searched the vehicle, they found heroin and cocaine inside.

Gordan Cenic, 42, from Hamilton faces a number of charges including drug charges and driving while under suspension and driving while disqualified.

This arrest is the 32nd drug-impaired arrest so far this year.

Police made 29 arrests drug-impaired driving arrests last year and in 2016.
