Scorching temperatures are sticking around the Golden Horseshoe on Monday, keeping a heat warning in effect.
Hamilton’s Medical Officer of Health initiated a heat warning for the city on Sunday.
That means the city and participating agencies open “cool places” to allow residents a place to cool down.
As part of that initiative, all public, family, adult and seniors swims at the city’s indoor and outdoor pools are free.
The Salvation Army has launched its mobile water distribution response and is handing out water to those in need of hydration.
On Monday, temperatures are expected to hit the low 30s, with the humidex values near 40.
A cold front will move through early Tuesday making temperatures more comfortable.
